UPMC Presbyterian Hospital

The Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison (CL) Service at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital (792 beds) completes over 3,000 psychiatry evaluations per year. This setting provides our fellows with diverse, educational, and high-volume experiences, along with exposure to a wide array of medical, surgical, neurological, and psychiatric conditions. Fellows serve as integral members of a teams-based teaching service, providing psychiatric care on the inpatient floors and intensive care units. Core teaching faculty engage fellows in supervision of clinical cases. (12-month experience: 57.5% annual full time equivalent).

UPMC Presbyterian Hospital

Our fellows function as embedded psychiatrists on the Palliative Care Consultation Service at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, providing devoted psychiatric services and education to a large multidisciplinary team. Designated time is allotted for longitudinal supervision of clinical cases and instruction in palliative care with the Program Director, and fellows gain experience in supervising senior residents during an elective rotation in Palliative Care Psychiatry. (6-month experience: 10% annual full-time equivalent).

UPMC Cancer Center

The UPMC Cancer Center provides centralized multidisciplinary care to patients with oncologic and hematologic conditions, in addition to leading the region in cancer research. Our fellows provide longitudinal ambulatory psychiatric services within the Cancer Center; designated time is allotted for supervision of clinical cases and instruction in psycho-oncology. (6-month experience: 10% annual full time equivalent).

Starzl Transplantation Institute of UPMC

The Starzl Transplantation Institute at UPMC is an internationally acclaimed clinical and research center, known for high-volume and clinically complex organ transplantation. Our fellows provide ambulatory psychiatric care to individuals at various stages of transplantation: from pre-transplantation evaluation to post-transplantation follow-up. This continuity affords fellows the opportunity to engage in comprehensive, multi-dimensional patient care as integral members of an interdisciplinary service. (6-month experience: 10% annual full time equivalent).

UPMC Comprehensive Movement Disorders Clinic

The UPMC Huntington’s Disease Clinic is a multidisciplinary program including physicians, social workers, genetic counselors, and clinical trial coordinators, providing care for individuals with Huntington’s disease and their families. Our fellows function as integrated providers within this unique model of care, serving as mental health points of contact for patients, families, and other practitioners. (12-month experience: 2.5% annual full time equivalent).

Magee Women's Hospital of UPMC

The Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison Service at Magee-Women’s Hospital sees approximately 400 psychiatry evaluations per year. Our fellows have the option to provide devoted psychiatric consultation to a perinatal patient population, working closely alongside obstetrics and gynecology services. (6-month experience: 5% annual full time equivalent – during Inpatient CL Psychiatry rotations).
