Jacob Brent, MD completed his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2023. Prior to residency, Dr. Brent was interested in the mental health of terminally ill patients and their families. Dr. Brent is developing interests in the intersection of palliative care and psychiatry, psycho-oncology, and mental health of adolescents and young adults with complex and chronic medical illness.
Colette Buser, MD completed her medical training at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board program in 2026. Dr. Buser is interested in caring for patients with eating disorders, particularly younger adolescents. She looks forward to developing skills in trauma informed care and learning more about mental healthcare advocacy. Dr. Buser and her co-resident Dr. Keller grew up 15 minutes away from each other!
Erin Calabrese, MD completed her graduate and medical training at the University of Michigan Medical School and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2024. Dr. Calabrese has long been interested in providing access to underserved communities and advocating for adolescents who have complex medical and psychiatric needs. In particular, Dr. Calabrese is interested in equipping pediatricians with more resources to provide mental health care in rural communities.
Stephanie Chavez-Yenter, DO, MPH completed her medical training at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2025. Prior to residency, Dr. Chavez was interested in health disparities and medical education with a particular interest in how systematic changes in medicine could improve care and outreach to LGBTQ and undocumented adolescents. As a Triple Board resident, she has further developed an interest in the intersection of psychiatry with supportive and complex care management.
Evan Keller, MD completed his medical training at the University of Pittsburgh and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2026. He is passionate about exploring the intersectionality between humanism, art, and medicine. As a Triple Board resident, Dr. Keller hopes to provide psychiatric care for children with chronic medical conditions and is developing interests in integrated psychiatric care, consult-liaison psychiatry, and eating disorders.
Steven “Sven” Lam, MD completed his medical training at the University of California Davis School of Medicine and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2027. Dr. Lam has been interested in mental health since volunteering on a suicide hotline prior to residency. His interests grew in medical education, as well as Cconsult & Liaison Psychiatry. He is interested in providing care for children and families with chronic illnesses.
Kristin Smoot, MD completed her medical training at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2027. Prior to her residency, Dr. Smoot was interested in research and mindfulness-based therapies. She is excited to explore her interests in Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry as well as in Developmental Pediatrics and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Rebecca Toback, MD completed her medical training at the University of Michigan and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2025. Dr. Toback is interested in integrated care of medically ill children and clinical ethics, which were her interests prior to residency. As a Triple Board Program resident, she is looking forward to developing expertise in this interface of medical complexity and psychiatric comorbidities.
Naomi Ullendorff, MD completed her medical training at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2023. Prior to residency, Dr. Ullendorff was interested in LGBTQ health equity and medical education. As a Triple Board resident, she is a member of the pediatric residency Wellness Committee. Dr. Ullendorff continues to develop her passion in providing gender-affirming care for adolescents and mental health care for LGBTQ youth.
Miriam Weiss, MD, MPH completed her medical training at Michigan State University and will graduate from the UPMC Triple Board Program in 2024. Prior to residency, Dr. Weiss was interested in primary care and reproductive health. As a Triple Board resident, she plans to provide comprehensive behavioral and medical care to children in underserved communities.
