Provost's Inaugural Lecture

                    Loren Roth, MD, MPH to Present Provost?s
               Distinguished Service Professor Inaugural Lecture

 

Please join us on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 4:00pm-5:00pm in Lecture Room 6 of Scaife Hall for a special lecture and reception celebrating the appointment of Loren Roth, MD, MPH as a Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh. 

Dr. Roth?s appointment as a Distinguished Service Professor is not only an important honor for him, but also for the Department of Psychiatry as it recognizes his many outstanding contributions and accomplishments to the field of medicine.  

We invite you to join us on June 3rd to celebrate with us and learn more about Dr. Roth?s career path and its impact on academic medicine.  The lecture and reception are also a great opportunity to congratulate Dr. Roth personally on his appointment and to reconnect with your colleagues.

Dr. Roth has and continues to make valuable contributions to the University of Pittsburgh and to the health care community.  He played a significant role in the development of UPMC during a period of rapid change in health care economics, insurance and care delivery beginning in 1993 with the advent of managed care, eventually becoming Sr. Vice President for Medical Services and Chief Medical Officer of UPMC.  Dr. Roth?s work has had a significant impact on the development of collaborative partnerships between academic and clinical programs that have improved the quality of care and the safety of patients and individuals participating in research.
