James D. Tew, Jr., MD Selected for
2012 Excellence in Education Award

Congratulations to James Tew, Jr., MD on his selection for an Excellence in Education Award by the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Class of 2016.  Dr. Tew was selected for the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions as a lecturer to medical student education. 

Dr. Tew is Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and serves as an Advisory Dean of the Office of Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  He is also completing his first year as the Medical Director for the Collaboration Care Management program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of the UPMC.

The Excellence in Education Awards are important traditions at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  Awardees are selected by pre-clinical students to recognize faculty educators for their valued contributions and dedication to teaching in the fundamentals of basic science and organ systems pathophysiology blocks.
