Research Equity and Community Health (REACH) Health Equity Seminar Series

Bea Luna, PhD Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Professor of Psychology, Bioengineering and Radiology, and Staunton Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine

On March 21, 2024 the Research Equity and Community Health (REACH) Health Equity Seminar Series welcomes Bea Luna, PhD as its featured speaker. Dr. Luna is Distinguished Professor of Psychiatry and Professor of Psychology, Bioengineering and Radiology, and Staunton Professor of Pediatrics and Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Luna will co-lead a discussion focused on the challenges of recruiting diverse participants in fMRI research.  This seminar will follow a journal club format with open-ended questions for discussion. The article we will be discussing is titled "Increasing diversity in developmental cognitive neuroscience: A roadmap for increasing representation in pediatric neuroimaging research."

REACH invites investigators and research staff of all career stages and health equity research experience to participate in our ongoing monthly seminar. Because our virtual seminars are designed to foster active participation and discussion, we strongly encourage attendees to turn their cameras on and join in the conversation.

For more information about how to participate in our monthly virtual seminar, please contact Samantha Haubner at haubners@upmc.edu.
