Join us on October 6, 2023 when we welcome Jürgen Unützer, MD, MPH, MA from the University of Washington as our featured speaker for the Distinguished Scientist Lecture series. 

Dr. Unützer is the Paul G. Ramsey Endowed Chair for Brain Health Solutions and Director of the Garvey Institute for Brain Health Solutions at the University of Washingon School of Medicine. He also holds adjunct appointments in the University of Washington School of Public Health. Dr. Unützer's work focuses on the integration of mental health services and general medical care and on translating research on evidence-based mental health interventions into effective clinical and public health practice. His publication portfolio includes over 300 scientific papers and he is the recipient of numerous federal and foundation grants and awards that have supported his research on integrated behavioral health care. In addition, Dr. Unützer has worked with national and international organizations dedicated to improving behavioral health care for diverse populations and has served as Senior Scientific Advisor to the World Health Organization and as an advisor to the President’s New Freedom Commission on Mental Health.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS. The entirety of this program will be a lecture by the speaker(s). The indicated number of clock hours of continuing education is provided through UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital’s Office of Educational Resources and Planning, a PA-approved provider of social work continuing education in accordance with all the applicable educational and professional standards of the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapist.
