The July 20th seminar will focus on “The Clinical Research Service of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center: An Overview and Discussion of Services for Biobehavioral Cancer Control Research and Researchers.”

Our featured speakers will be Tiffany Akins, Research Coordinator, Biobehavioral Cancer Core/Operations and Joshua Plassmeyer, Associate Director for Clinical Trial Operations for Clinical Research Services at the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center. 

The Clinical Research Services (CRS) department of the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center provides a wide range of expertise and services to cancer center investigators conducing cancer-related clinical research. The CRS offers specialized services across all phases of research with cancer patients, caregivers, and individuals at risk for cancer, including assistance with trial protocol preparation, activation, implementation, conduct, and close out. This presentation will focus on services that may be of particular interest to investigators conducting Biobehavioral Cancer Control research. After an overview of CRS support services including assistance with protocol development, approvals, recruitment, data collection & maintenance, statistical analysis, visit facilitation, reporting and regulatory processing, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions about any aspect of CRS services.
