Deepak Kaji, MD/PhD is an Instructor and research-track resident in the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He uses human induced pluripotent stem cell models of the brain (including organoids and assembloids) to study neuropsychiatric illness. Using multi-omics technologies and bioengineering techniques, his team works to understand how beta-amyloid plaques, anatomical location, and microglia work to drive tau accumulation and propagation.
