The Role of Oligodendrocyte Myelin Glycoprotein in Dendritic Arbor Development and Homeostasis
On September 25, 2026 we will feature the research of Melanie Grubushi, MD, PhD as part of our Meet the PI lecture series.
Dr. Grubisha completed her residency at UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital. As an active member of the Department of Psychiatry's Psychiatry Research Pathway program during her residency, her research focused on impairments in dendritic morphogenesis in schizophrenia under the mentorship of Robert Sweet, MD. Following graduation, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department's Training for Transformative Discovery in Psychiatry T32 training program. Dr. Grubisha was appointed to the Department of Psychiatry faculty in 2019. She is the past recipient of a K08 career development award from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and is currently the Principal Investigator for an NIMH R01 grant that aims to provide new insight into adolescent dendritic development. In addition to her research, she is also clinically active at the re:solve Crisis Center in Pittsburgh.
