Robert Howland, MD, Recognized for Excellence in Patient Experience

Congratulations to Robert Howland, MD (Associate Professor of Psychiatry), who has been recognized with a 2023 Excellence in Patient Experience Award. Dr. Howland was honored at the 2023 Loren Roth Quality and Patient Safety Awards Celebration. The awards are based on patient ratings and are presented to top UPMC providers in recognition of their dedication to the population they serve and their compassionate care of patients and their families. Of the more than 5,000 UPMC physicians, Dr. Howland is among only 48 recipients of this award across UPMC’s specialties.

Dr. Howland is board certified in geriatric psychiatry and neurology, and is a distinguished fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. He is currently an attending psychiatrist in the UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital Mood and Anxiety Intensive Outpatient Program, which provides evidence-based behavioral health services to patients with acute and chronic psychiatric disorders.
