Faith Rowland, MD Awarded APA/SAMHSA Minority Fellowship

Dr. Faith Rowland, a PGY2 Resident in the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Track, has received a Minority Fellowship Award from the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The award will support a project examining the interplay between Christianity in the African American community and Psychiatry.  Fellows are selected on the basis of their commitment to serve ethnic minority populations, their awareness of the importance of culture in mental health, their interest in the interrelationship between mental health/illness and transcultural factors, and their demonstrated leadership abilities.
