Special Lectures

Please join us on Tuesday, February 22, 2018 as the University of Pittsburgh honors Dr. Mary Phillips and we celebrate her appointment as the Pittsburgh Foundation-Emmerling Endowed Chair in Psychotic Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Dr. Phillips will deliver a Provost Inaugural Lecture beginning at 4:00pm in Lecture Room 6 of Scaife Hall.  A special reception with light refreshments will immediately follow the lecture.

Jones Parker, PhD uses calcium imaging to determine how neural network dynamics are disrupted in neurological and psychiatric diseases. Specifically, he uses this technique to evaluate neural ensemble signatures of neuropsychiatric disease, and to observe projection-specific neural activity towards understanding the circuit basis of mental illness.

Join us on March 1st when Dr. Stephen Smagula will be our featured speaker for our Sleep Grand Rounds series.

The Senior Vice Chancellor's Seminar Series will feature the research of Department of Psychiatry faculty member Dr. Zachary Freyberg at noon on Friday, March 16th. We hope you will join your colleagues from Psychiatry and other University departments for this special lecture. 

Our featured speaker for the next Center for Sleep and Circadian Science Grand Rounds will be Dr. Faith Luyster of the Pitt School of Nursing.

The Brain, Behavior, and Cancer Seminar Series welcomes Dr. Robert Noll as its featured speaker on March 21st.
