Justin Schreiber, DO, MPH Elected Secretary of
American Academy of Pediatrics Section on
Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees

Justin Schreiber, DO, MPHThe American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Section on Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees has elected, a Triple Board Resident, to the position of Secretary for 2013-2014. This is an accomplishment and honor not only for Dr. Schreiber, but also for the residency training program at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC (WPIC).

As Secretary of the Section, Dr. Schreiber will participate in the Section?s long range planning meeting and the AAP Annual Leadership Forum in Illinois, and the organization?s National Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, CA in the coming year.

In announcing Dr. Schreiber?s election to this position, Dr. Faisal Malik, Section Chairperson, commended him on the great leadership that he has demonstrated in his roles within the AAP and the Section, and noted that Dr. Schreiber serves as a resource and a mentor for other trainees in the residency training program in Pittsburgh and to AAP medical students, residents and fellowship trainees.

Dr. Schreiber earned a Master?s degree in Public Health from Boston University and studied Neuroscience and History at the University of California at Los Angeles prior to obtaining his medical degree from Touro University in Nevada. In addition to his clinical activities as a resident at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC, Dr. Schreiber is also every active in the Community Oriented Resident Education and the Academic Administrator Clinician Educator programs. He also has pursued his interests focusing on health policy and child advocacy. His work in those areas include his service as the Assistant Coordinator of District III for the AAP where he has worked with the District Coordinator and AAP members to achieve the organization?s goals in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
